My little garden
Plants, I love them (my cat does too, especially the ones she can eat!). My grandmother and my mother have a pretty good green thumb so I try to honor the genes they gave me! You don't need a big piece of land, a balcony will be more than enough to let you enjoy seeing your little plants grow.
I should say that my preference goes to cactus and succulents. They look so strong but are fragile and a leaf can break so easily. That same leaf, if you just put it on the soil, will start growing on it's own slowly (I'm always amazed by looking at this circle of life).
I "adopted" also an Orange tree and a Tangelo tree (mix of tangerine and pomelo/grapefruit) and they proudly gave me some fruits for the first time this december!!! I made some juice with it and it was amazing, really really sweet.
The only "inside plant" I have is an orchid a friend gave me. She saved the orchid before it was going to be thrown in the garbage! I don't understand why people get rid of them once the flowers are gone, don't you want to take care of the plant instead so she will give you flowers again? That's what I'm trying to do with mine ;-)
